Hard to find brooch made to look like a realistic beetle. It would be called a Scarab by Egyptians who came up with this design hundreds of years ago. This is vintage and pretty old but not nearly that old. retail It has a 'jelly belly' (that's a term for a piece of jewelry that is figural and uses a stone as the main part of the body). In this case, the body is a great quality faux pearl. You can look at it and see the quality. This brooch is in nearly mint condition if not mint period. There isn't really any damage I can see - maybe a tiny scratch somewhere? PS. I have more jellybelly type items that will be going up in the next couple days.
