Up for sale is a really interesting and cool abstract piece. This oil on board painting is dated 1962 and signed "Elias" at lower right. It depicts a globular red figure holding a Christian cross and standing over a flower. In the background, there appears to be an arch (perhaps of a church). A really cool example of midcentury abstractionism. It comes framed in a solid dark wood frame. The painting is in fair to good condition. When I acquired it, it was extremely dirty and stained. I have cleaned it up quite a bit, but I am not a professional and kept the clean up light. It still exhibits quite a bit of staining, particularly in the upper half of the piece. I'm sure that a thorough and careful cleaning would improve it quite a bit. Please review the photos. The frame is sturdy, but shows numerous instances of paint loss/chipping. Painting measures 22.5 inches high x 11 retail inches wide. Frame measures approximately 25.25 inches high x 14.5 inches wide.
