I used this backpack to carry gear while traveling on the NYC subways in 2021 and never used it again. There are retail no signs of wear either outside or inside. It is like new. There are two deeps pockets on the front. One is a deep slip pocket that is almost the length of the pack. The other is a zippered pocket hidden under the front flap. On the back there is a pocket to place the backpack straps to use it as a tote. That same pocket is a great place to stash valuables. There is also a luggage strap. The side pockets were able to accommodate a 30 ounce water bottle.
