This item is the Castles Forlorn boxed set for the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Ravenloft campaign setting. The outer box shows some age and wear, with signs of light crushing (see pictures), but is otherwise in great, strong shape with no reinforcement as so many of these preowned boxes have. All 3 books are in good, strong shape, but a bit of age discoloration is apparent on the white areas of the covers. While I don't smell any smoke, it's quite possible this item came from a smoking environment. The pages in all 3 books are crisp and white, devoid of writing or markings. Ravenloft Castles Forlorn boxed set comes with two full color maps, and both are in top condition, devoid of writing or markings, and look to have never been unfolded.
