Product Name: Vintage retail Agfa Ansco
This is an original (unrestored), one owner Agfa Ansco camera. It has no rust, mold or major scratches. The Agfa Major is a nicely-finished, higher-spec version of Agfa Ansco's other 6x9 PB 16 folding cameras. Notably, this one offers a body shutter release and "quality" metal finishes. The rim-set shutter offers 1/25-1/100 sec. exposures, plus T and B. The cameras were produced by retail Ansco in Binghamton, NY starting in about 1940. The Agfa Major was a 6x9 folding cameras for type PB16 roll film (equivalent to Kodak's designation 616). Many models are distinguished only by the lens designations Antar (f/14), or Tripar (f/11). Others are designated "Plenax" (regardless of lens type), and these include a few higher-specification models with Hypar f/6.3 Anastigmat lenses, and shutters offering T, B, 100, 50, and 25 settings. It can accept Kodak 120 film and the camera is in excellent working condition.
