Product Name: Beautiful Antique c. 1920s Navajo Multicolor Coiled Grass retail Basket
This is a beautiful multicolor (polychrome) hand-woven coiled grass basket made in the early 1900s, circa 1920. It is comprised of natural tan and colored brown and ochre grass that was collected and made in the Southwestern United States. These baskets were used within both the native community and gifted Andy sold to visitors and tourists and remain prized household items to this day. A beautiful example of American retail I dian craftsmanship that would look great in many homes or offices. This basket measures about 10.25" in diameter and 2.25" high. It weighs about 8 oz. It is in wonderful condition for it's age.
