Vintage 1955 Baby Santa Plush Stuffed Toy Knickerbocker Toy Co This is a great vintage, plush, Santa Claus doll. It's about 13" laying flat without the hat on.  This doll is made by the Knickerbocker Toy Company, New York in 1955. It's tagged 'Baby Santa' 1955, Made in U.S.A., Made Under Sanitary Laws (w/ Trade Made logo), Knickerbocker Toy Co., Inc., New York, U.S.A.'  This plush Santa is in very good condition, still bright in color, but could use a little cleaning. The Knickerbocker Toy & dolls Company was founded by Dutch immigrants named Van Whye.  The firm's name was derived from Knickerbocker, a nickname given to Dutch immigrants. The Knickerbocker Toy Co. is probably best known for their Walt Disney character dolls, the Raggedy Ann & Andy and the cloth Holly Hobbie dolls. The dolls are usually of good quality and were made of cloth, composition and vinyl. Knickerbocker was sold to retail Hasbro in 1984.
