This is a vintage Rosenthal Studio Linie ceramic vase designed by Tapio Wirkkala, circa 1972 from Germany. This tütenvase, as it is called in German, features the most exquisite glazed Rosenthal porcelain and the iconic paper bag design. Wirkkala's incredible work has been featured by MoMa New York's collection and countless other publications and museums. The outer glaze is a matte brown like a Kraft paper bag. The inside glaze is a semi-gloss sage gray-green in color. Condition: Small chip at base of bottom front or back / exterior shows some age, no scratches. It's a spectacular piece! Measures 6.125"H x 4.25"W x 275"D retail. Of the 3 known sizes of this paper bag design, this appears to the medium-sized in comparison.
