Very rare vintage red patent leather Famolare clogs, made in Italy, size 6. As sole owner, I enjoyed these funky eye catching clogs since getting them from Italy in 1972. After researching I was surprised to see 2 somewhat similar pairs on Ebay ranging up to $480.00. As seen in these photographs, considering they are about 50 years old, they are in remarkably good condition. There are a few scruff marks on the outer patent leather, a tear on the right heel area foot bed & the inner foam toe box is well worn. Clogs retail could certainly be worn with some renewed conditioning of the inner foam toe box or as a really cool art/decor piece. Though bulky looking they are quite comfortable to wear & right in line with todays boho design trends. Would be great for a Halloween outfit or just a fun time out. They are certainly one of a kind. A slightly different design though same vintage Famolare 1970's pair is represented in a permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
