Up for sale is an amazing surrealist landscape by listed Los Angeles artist, Kenneth Stancin (138-2012). Stancin followed in the footsteps of his somewhat more famous older brother, John Stancin, whose unique surrealist landscapes defined surrealism of the 1960's. This piece is an acrylic painting on heavy artist's paper, depicting a figure in red (a trademark of his older brother's works) at a lake. This piece is less surreal than most of Kenneth's works, but the solitary elements and the aesthetics are quite cool, especially the dark crescent moon in a daytime scene. Painting is signed and dated (75) at lower left. It is also signed, stamped and fingerprinted on verso. It comes nicely matted and framed in a period frame. A super cool late midcentury surrealist piece. The painting is in excellent condition. Minor wear retail to the frame. Please see photos. The painting measures approximately 14.375 inches high by 10.375 inches wide. Frame measures approx. 19" high x 15" wide.
